Kladow is a part of Berlin-Spandau.
You reach Kladow by bus or by a ferry.
There are 3 busses going to Kladow: bus 135, bus 134 and bus 638 ( Berlin Spandau - Potsdam )
Bus 135 starts in S+U Rathaus Spandau (Berlin) and ends in Alt-Kladow (Berlin).
With this bus you reach our house directly ( bus station Kurpromenade )
There is another, very nice, way to come to Kladow:
you can catch the BVG-ferry in Berlin-Wannsee ( departs always at the full hour in Wannsee )
The route of this ferry goes across the Wannsee. It lasts 18 minutes to reach Kladow.
When you reach Kladow, you feel like in a provincial town.
The hectic rush of Berlin does not reach Kladow.
The people living in Kladow are quite relaxed and friendly.
BUT you have got the advantages of a big city.
There are busses going all night long.
Kladow itself has got all you need:
schools, bakeries, doctors, 2 pharmacies, 5 supermarkets, restaurants and a drugstore.
There are also leisure time facilities: a riding stable, a golf course and a motorboat harbour. There is even a hospital in Berlin-Kladow. But it's an anthroposophical hospital, not for first aid.
Our favorite restaurant is "Restaurant ruspina" in the "center" of Kladow. They have got a good italian kitchen.
In the harbour of Kladow there are also some restaurants with a nice view over the Wannsee and the harbour. - It's a Pizzeria, a "Biergarten" and a Chinese restaurant.
There is a very nice NEW restaurant in Groß Glienicke ( just 5 Minutes by car/20 min walk from our house ): Mike's Heimatküche.
This is a small, cosy restaurant with very good standard. They use regional, seasonal dishes.
There is a restaurant directly at the lake and they have got very good food.
You reach it by car ( 5 km/ 10 minutes ) or by bike ( about 18 minutes )
